The character and discipline of the Blue Tigers are commendable. When the difficulties were reduced and Lebanon took the game to penalties, Sunil Chhetri and his teammates took the lead.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu deserves special mention. If he hadn’t made continuous saves at the beginning of the game, the match could have ended even before it started for the host team.
The defense proved to be impenetrable against several Lebanese counter-attacks, and although the opponents couldn’t score in the intense 120 minutes of football action, they won’t be bothered by it anymore.
