Karol G has been traveling around the world with her presentations, seen strolling hand in hand with her beloved Fid in Miami, Florida, and recently spotted in Versailles, France for the Jacquemus Spring Fashion Show. Today (June 30th), Karol Ji is back on the map, but this time on the East Coast, performing for the Today Show and once again making headlines.
Before her performance of a hit single for the City Concert Series on the Today Show, co-anchor Hoda surprised the singer with an enthusiastic fan. Hoda could be seen descending from the stage to a 12-year-old girl who appeared to be crying. She was immediately brought to meet Karol G.
Hanna, the young fan, greeted Karol G with a cheerful “Hola, mi reina!” and a big hug. She was then taken to other hosts and asked her name and what this moment meant to her. Hanna responded in Spanish, saying “¡Algo muy bonito!” (Something very beautiful).
Clearly, Hanna was not the only superfan on the site. Karol G first performance on the Today Show also drew a record-breaking crowd, with an estimated 15,000 fans present, according to NBC. Some fans even camped outside overnight, enduring long queues to catch Karol Ji’s performance.
In a video compilation by the Today Show’s TikTok account, Karol G says, “In the past two years, we have been growing like a movement. And as Latinos, we support everything we do around the world, so we feel proud of everyone.”
“This is a very wonderful moment for me,” Karol G says, “This is my first time on this stage, and we are breaking records!”
